It may not look like much but you paid for it and one city councilwoman says it needs to stop. The new schedule means public works can save money but Eyewitness News has learned that savings comes with a hefty price tag: $102000 to be exact. It's money you're paying Waterhouse Public Relations Firm to get out the “Recycle Right” message. “I did not see any other contracts presented for the city council” District 1 Councilwoman Deborah Scott told Eyewitness News. “That was the only one that we saw. ” Scott is one of three council members who voted against hiring Waterhouse for a third year. She says it sends taxpayers the wrong message at the wrong time.

?I still feel like this contract is excessive? said Councilwoman Deborah Scott who first questioned the contract. Questions first were raised about the contract with Waterhouse Public Relations during the council?s Public Works Committee. The contract is for providing public information on the city?s recycling campaign. The contract is from May 1 2009 to June 30 2010 according to records.
